sanoja ja tanssia - words and dance

Taaperotanssin yksi tärkeimmäistä  tavoitteista on tukea lapsen kokonaisvaltaista kehitystä tanssin kautta.  Tanssia ja puheen kehityksen yhteyttä ei aina ajattele ensimmäiseksi, mutta tanssin kautta myös voi tukea myös kielellistä kehitystä.

Viime aikoina tunneilla meillä on ollut tansseja, missä on erilaisia käsitteitä: esim. vastakkain, peräkkäin, vierekkäin.  Nämä ovat sanoja, jotka lapsi oppii helposti tanssimalla; musiikin tauolla teemme aikuisen kanssa jonkin näistä sanoista esim. laitamme nenät vastakkain tai tanssimme vierekkäin kahdestaan tai ihan koko ryhmä vierekkäin.  Autotanssissa autot kulkevat peräkkäin, lapsi edessä ajajana ja  aikuinen takapenkillä ( samalla tulevat myös edessä ja takana käsitteet tutuiksi).  Piirissä voimme olla lähellä toisiamme tai suurentaa piiriä niin, että olemme todella kaukana toisistamme.

  Koska 1-vuotias ei vielä käytä pääasiassa mielikuvitustaan ( 2-vuotiaat enemmän) on tärkeää, että me aikuiset käytämme oikeita sanoja asioiden yhteydessä. Myöhemmin opettaja voi käyttää paljon mielikuvia kunhan lapset hallitsevat peruskäsitteet ensin. ks. edellinen lumipallo blogi.

Joskus vanhemmat miettivät, miksi jotain harjoitusta tehdään, ja aina en huomaa avata jokaista harjoitusta heille, mutta taaperotunnilla voi olla turvallisin mielin, kaikissa harjoituksissa on pedagoginen peruste.

Tanssitunti on oppimisen paikka, myös sanojen oppimisen paikka.

One of the main goals for toddler´s dance is to support a child´s overall development  through dance.  The connection of speech and dance is not something one thinks first, but the development of learning words and speech can be helped through dance.


We´ve had exercises with many concepts lately in the dance lesson for example, facing each other, next to each other,one  after another .  These terms  chidlren can learn easily by dancing; during the pause in the music we put our noses together facing each other or standing nex to each other or the whole group walking forward next to each other.  In the "car dance" we dance one after the other, the child is a driver and the adult sitting in the back seat ( we also learn the terms in front and behind in a very concrete way).  In a circle we can be really close to each other and making the circle little larger we are very far from each other. 


 1- year old children are not using their imagination so much yet ( 2-years old more), that is why we adults should use the correct words and concepts when learning words.  Later on the teacher can fill her teaching with images if the chidren handle the correct terms first. see the previous blog called the snowball.


Sometimes parents might wonder why we do some dance exercises, and I sometimes I forget or don´t have time to explain shortly the reason for the exercises, but parents can feel safe in the toddler´s dance class; there is a pedagogical purpose and reason for every dance we do in the class.


A dance class is a place to learn -  also learn words.
