Ystävänpäivä on hyvä päivä kutsua ystäviä tanssimaan mukaan taaperotanssitunneille, eli tällä viikolla tanssitunnilla on avoimet ovet. Isompien lasten kanssa avoimet ovet-päivä voi olla haastava, pienet 3-4-vuotiaattanssijat tahtovat juosta oman vanhemman syliin joka välissä. Taaperotanssitunnilla tuntuu, että lapsista on täysin luonnollista, että tanssimassa onkin kaksi vanhempaa tai kummi-täti tai naapurin lapsetkin. Sanonta " mitä enemmän sen hauskempaa" sopii taaperotanssin avoimiin ovien-tunnille.
Kun tunnillemme tulee vieraita, niin yleensä kutsun kaikki tanssimaan mukaan, mutta toki saa jäädä katsomaan sivulle. 1-2-vuotias on täysin tanssin touhussa, eikä hän ei yleensä kiinnitä mitään huomiota tunnin seuraajiin. Itse olen iloinen kun toinenkin vanhempi näkee, mitä tunneilla tehdään, näin molemmilla vanhemmilla on selkeä käsitys siitä, millaista tanssitunnilla on.
Joskus joku isä oli ollut aika epäileväinen taaperotanssin sisältöä kohtaan, mutta tunnin jälkeen hän oli sanonut " siellähän tanssitaan ihan oikeasti - minäkin voisin tulla joku kerta mukaan ". Mieltäni on lämmittänyt myös, kun isovanhemmat ovat tulleet mukaan tanssimaan. Eräs isoäiti sanoi," että tämä tunti tekisi minullekin hyvää". Tanssi todella on kaikille.

Valenetine´ s Day is a great day to invite friends to the dance class; the toddler´s dance class has open doors this week. Open doors- day can be a little bit challeging with 3-4-years old dancers. They have a tendency to spring to their parent´s lap to sit and watch. In the toddler´s dance class it only feels natural to have both parents dancing, or having godmother or the neighbourhood children to dance along . The saying "the more the merrier" describes the open doors-lesson well.
When we have visitors I invite everybody to dance, but visitors most certainly are allowed to sit and watch also. 1-2- years old dancer is fully concentrated to do his or her own moves and usually has no interest in other people besides his or her own adults. I ´m very pleased if the other parent also sees what happens in the dance class, this way both parents have more similar view about this activity.
Once a dad had been quite skeptical toward the content of the toddler´s dance class, but after seeing the class he had said " okay, you really dance there - I could come along sometimes". I´ve also been very glad to see grand parents coming to dance with their grand children. One grandmother said
" this class would be good for me". Dance really is for everyone.
