Kuvat on otettu Ecuadorissa. Kiitos!
Days are full of sunlight and getting longer each day. We dance spring dances in our lessons. We have a welcoming rhyme at the beginning of each class. The rhyme has a part where each child is given a chance to wave to other children and say hello. During the spring term we`ve replaced our normal way of waving with a so called bird wave. Children cross their arms in front of them forming " wings" and with these crossed hands they wave to each other. Crossing hands requires ability to use both brain sides at the same time. These so called crossing over ( the middle line) movements are not in any way goal movements for 1-3-years old children. Crossing over movements are very challenging even for older children . But when there is an adult guiding the child´s hand movements, children are able to do these crossing over movements.
During the last couple of weeks I´ve noticed that ( to my surprise ) even the younger children have started to find their bird wave hand position themselves. And how many variations of the bird waving hands have we seen !
If the birds have their rich colours and personal voices in the nature, so can dancers have as many personal ways of doing the same movement!
The pictures are photographed by a bird watcher and bird photographer Richard Paulson.
And how beautifully the wings of the humming bird are waving! The pictures are taken Ecuador . Thank you!
