Hyvää Joulua! Merry Christmas!

  Tanssikoulujen syyslukukausi lähenee loppuaan.  Viime viikolla tanssimme monet joulutanssit eri taapero-ja aikuinen-lapsiryhmien kanssa.  Oli hienoa, että niin moni perheenjäsen ehti mukaan jouluisiin tanssitunteihin.  Kokonaiset perhekunnat tanssivat yhdessä.
Myös 3-4-vuotiaiden tunnilla esitettiin esityksiä vanhemmille. Pienet lumihaltiat hurmasivat esityksellään kimaltavien viittojensa kanssa.  Lapset ovat oppineet paljon syksyn aikana.  Lapset kokevat tuntitilanteen tutuksi, toisten lasten nimet osataan ja omat nimet uskalletaan sanoa ihan ääneen.  Opettajalle kerrotaan asioita, ja erilaiset tanssiharjoitukset sujuvat niin liikkeellisesti, kuin tilanhahmotuksenkin kannalta. Olemme aloitelleet myös ensimmäisiä paritöitä, kuten tonttujen parikierintä kädet yhdessä. 
Haluan kiittää kaikkia perheitä joulumuistamisista, ja toivottaa kaikille iloista joulua!
Lauletaan ja tanssitaan ja toivotaan että lumihaltioiden taiat tuovat meille lunta!

The fall term in the dance schools is beginning to end.  Last week we had many christmas dances at the dance lessons with my toddler dance groups and with the 3-4-years old little dancers. It was wonderful that so many family members and other quests had time to participate  in  our special christmas dance lessons.
There were entire families dancing and rejoicing together.

The 3-4 years old children performed in front of their parents and other quests. The little snow elves charmed with their glittering little capes.  The children have learnt a great deal during this past months.  Children find the dance lesson situation familiar, they know the names of the other children in their groups and they say their own names outloud at the beginng of each lesson.  Children are eager to  share things to me as well.
They can do many different dance exercises executing different ways of moving and perceiving the space more easily for example staying in line and not jumping into each other...we´ve also begun the first couple exercises, little elves rolled on the floor holding hands with each other.

Let´s sing and dance and wish that the magic tricks of the little dancing elves bring snow finally on the ground!

New dancers are able to enroll to the classes after christmas.  I received a permission to advertise my own class which are available to new dancers. Look up for the schedules and browse through internet pages of these two dance schools to find information in English.

Saanko esitellä Pikkutrillin - Varhaisiän musiikinopetuksen ammattilehden. Ylhäällä kuva juuri ilmestyneestä lehden kannesta. Olen kirjoittanut tähän numeroon artikkelin nimeltä Yhdessä enemmän. Artikkelissa käydään läpi taaperotanssin keskeisiä asioita, ja   kuvaillaan taaperotanssin ja muskarin yhteisiä ja toisistaan eroavia piirteitä.  Haastattelin tätä varten omia taaperotanssijoitteni/ aikuinen -lapsitanssin vanhempia, joten heidänkin mielipide tulee siellä esiin. 

Pikkutrillistä on tulossa näytelehti nettiin tammikuussa, jolloin pääsen laittamaan linkin kaikille blogin lukijoille. Nyt toistaiseksi laitan lehden esille Helsingin tanssiopiston Kasarmin torin studion ilmoitustaululle, ja Espoon tanssiopiston Piispanportin ja Jalavapuiston koulun ilmoitustauluille. 
Lehti löytyy varmasti myös kaikkien musiikkiopistojen muskariopettajilta, ja kenties kirjastoista?

May I present Pikkutrilli - magazine for you. Pikkutrilli means Little trill, and it is a magazine for professional music teachers, who work with young students ( from baby-age until six-years old children I presume).  The picture is a magazine cover.  I wrote an article to this publication. It is called "More- together".  In the article I tell about the concept of toddler dance, what it is and how it is similar and different from the music lessons for young very yound children.  I did some interviewing among the parents who participate in my toddler dance classes.  One can read their opinion as well in the article.

So far the Pikkutrilli is not published in the internet, but in January there will be a sample net-magazine. Then all the blog readers can read the article on line.  So far I will just bring the paperversion to the dance schools where I teach myself in Helsinki and Espoo. The ´magazine can be found in the Musiikkiopistot( the music schools) and perhaps in the library?

Näkyykö tähtiä? Can you see stars?

 Yksi joulunajan klassikkotansseista taaperotanssitunneilla on "Tuiki tuiki tähtönen".  Tanssimme sen niin, että laulettaessa tähdistä, teemme tähtisormia, eli sormet tanssivat  kiinni ja auki niin suuriksi kuin saamme. Kohdassa "korkealla loistat vaan" kurotamme kädet korkealle laittaen kädet ristiin sormien kohdalta.  "Katsot alas" kohdassa tuomme kädet ihan alas.  Tanssin voi tanssia seisten tai istuen.
Tanssi on todella yksinkertainen suunta- ja sormien hienomotoriikkaharjoitus, mutta kun kyseessä on 1-vuotias tanssija, niin saattaa kestää jonkin aikaa ennen kuin hän oppii tekemään sormien liikkeet tietoisesti oikeassa kohdassa.  Aluksi nuorimmat lapsista usein vain katsovat aikuisten sormiliikkeitä, ja sitten vähitellen heidän omat sormensa lähtevät liikkumaan.  Tähtisormien liikkeet näyttävät yhtä maagisilta kuin innostuksen loiste lasten tähtisilmissä. 
Kyllä näkyy tähtiä, ihan joka tunti!

One of the classic dances during the Holiday season is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star at toddlers` dance lessons.  We do star fingers when the words tell about stars, we open our fingers as wide as we can and then we press them together. When the words say "Up above" we raise our hands and cross them as if we are making a big star. "Like diamond in the sky" part we lower our hands, because in the Finnish lyrics it has been translated differently " looking down on the earth" ( own translation).
This dance can be danced standing up or sitting down.

So it is actually a very simple direction- and finger motor skills exercise. But when it is danced by a one-year old child it might take a while for her or him to learn the right  movements in a conscious way with the right words.  It often happens that the younger children first only look at the adults making the finger movements and then little by little their own fingers begin to move in a dream like way. The dancing star fingers look as macigal as the glow in the eyes of the children  once they´ve mastered the dance .
So yes, one sees stars, during  every lesson!
