Joulun aika lähestyy, ja meillä taaperotanssissa joulutanssit on jo aloitettu - näin ehdimme toistaa tansseja tarpeeksi monta kertaa.  Pienille lapsillehan kaikki on uutta joulussa; tonttutanssit, joululaulut, joulun värit... ja pipariukot!

Joulun aikaan jokainen taaperotanssituntini loppuu piparipötkötykseen, se on pieni rentoutus, jota voi myös hyvin leikkiä kotona.  Ensiksi vanhempi "leipoo" lasta eli hieroo jäseniä pehmeästi vaivaten, kuten piparitaikinaa, sitten lapsi laitetaan selälleen patjalle, ja hänet voidaan muovata pipariukon muotoon, venyttää raajat pitkiksi ja selkäranka suoraksi.  Lopuksi aikuinen muotoilee lapsen kehon muodon silittämällä kehon ääriviioja pitkin, pipariukko on valmis ( ja toivottavasti myös rauhoittunut ).

The christmas season is coming closer and we have begun our christmas season dances - this way we are able to repeat the  excercise enough manyt times.  About christmas everything is new  for very young children; the elfdances, the carrols, the colors of christmas... and gingerbreadmen!


During this festive season every toddler´s dance class ends with children relaxing as gingerbreadmen.  It is a short relaxation, that can be done  at home as well.  First the parent does the dough, giving a massage for the children.  The the child is placed down to lay on his or hers back,and the adult can shape the child into a shape of a gingerbreadman, strech the hands and legs really long and give  the spine a straight line.  Finally the adult draws gently the new shape with her fingertips - the gingerbreadman is ready ( and hopefully calmed down).

Pienten lasten päivähoito herättää paljon keskustelua; hoidon laatu kyseenalaistetaan; liian suuret ryhmät , joita hoitavat liian usein vaihtuvat hoitajat.  Tästä aiheesta kirjoitti mm.kasvatustieteilijä Erja Rusanen 16.10 HS:ssä.  Hän ehdotti joka lapselle omahoitajaa. Hän korostikirjoituksessaan "kiintymyssuhdeteoriaa, jonka mukaan lapsi tuntee olonsa turvalliseksi saadessaan pysyä mahdollisimman lähellä sitä aikuista, johon hän on ensisijaisesti kiintynyt".  Lue koko artikkeli

Taaperoiden tanssitunnilla lapset saavat olla oman turvallisen aikuisensa kanssa, mutta opettaja tuntuu aluksi vieraalta lapsille.  Tanssitunnin lopussa on rentoutumisen aika, jolloin lapset pötköttävät aikuisensa kanssa patjalla.  Silloin käyn silittämässä pienten tanssijoiden " tanssijalkoja", ja joidenkin lasten kohdalla on niin, että voi mennä melkein koko lukuvuosi ennen kuin saan edes koskettaa heidän varpaitaan.  Onneksi lasten luottamus kasvaa opettajaa kohtaan, joka kunnioittaa lapsen omaa tilaa. Jotkut lapset  kapuavat keväällä jo syliini.

Myös yksityiset ja ns.erityispäiväkodit esim. Montessoripedagogiikkaan keskittyneet päiväkodit ovat vaarassa menettää ostopalvelupäiväkodin statuksen, mikä tarkoittaa, että näiden päiväkotien maksut nousevat huomattavasti.  Moni perhe varmasti joutuu miettimään jatkaisiko enää samassa päiväkodissa, vai vaihtaisiko kunnalliseen päiväkotiin.  Toivottavasti perheiden mahdollisuus valita jatkuu, koska vanhemmat ovat lastensa parhaita asiantunjoita.  Jos haluat osallistua tähän keskusteluun, niin voit vaikuttaa laittamalla nimesi addressiin osoitteessa. www.adressit.com

There is a lot of discussion going on with the day care arrengements for young children nowadays.  The quality of day care services is under scrutiny.  There are too many children in a one group, and the day care personnel  changes too rapidly, too often from the chidren´s point of view. An expert in child pedagogics, Erja Rusanen wrote an article about this topic. She underlined  the theory, " that children feel most secure when they are with the person they feel closest to".  Read the article - look up.


In the toddler´s dance classes children are with the closest or second closest person.  The dance teacher feels like a stranger for the children at first.  At the end of each class there is a moment of relaxation, when the children are lying down with their adult.  I go to cuddle  each child, to smooth their "dance feet".  For some children it might take the whole fall and spring term until they let me even touch their toes. Fortunately the trust towards the teacher keeps growing if the teacher respects children´s own space.  By spring time some children climb up to sit in my lap .


Also, the private day care  services and so called special day care services ( such as Montessori - pedagogic- play schools etc. )are in danger of losing their financial aid from the government, which means that their services would become substantially more expensive for the families.  Many parents would have to consider whether to continue with the same day care or whether to change to the goverment funded  day care.
I hope the families are given the  oppurtunity to choose for themselves what is best for their children, after all they know their children best.

Ei, vaan se on taaperotanssitunnin meri, aallokko, lammikko... mitä vain opettaja tai lapset
tai aikuiset luovat sen avulla.  Kuvassa se on vain kaunis kiiltävä kangas, mutta se kätkee sisälleen paljon.
Suuren kankaan avulla me harjoittelemme rytmiä, keinuva valssin rytmi syntyy kun kangasta heilutetaan rytmissä ylös - alas - ylös -alas.  Aikuiset jatkavat aaltojen tekemistä lapsille, jotka aistivat tuulen hiuksissaan ja yrittävät kurkotella ylöspäin, välillä aikuiset laskevat kankaan alas, ja lapset menevät ihan pieniksi sen alle.  Näin harjoittelemme edelleen käsitteitä ylhäällä ja alhaalla.  Lapset  ovat myös pieniä rapuja tai kilpikonnia jotka ryömivät aivan matalina kankaan alta, ja me aikuiset houkuttelemme heitä liikkumaan niin alhaalla kuin mahdollista.

Lopussa lapset pääsevät kankaan päälle - hypätään lammikkoon.  He tunnustelevat kangasta jaloillaan ja käsillään, kuinka liukas se onkaan!  Viimeisenä "uimme vedessä" eli jammailemme kankaan päällä ja hyppäämme myös lammikosta pois.  Kalojen juhlat! huusi yksi oppilaani, todellakin meriaihe tunnilla päättyy aina kalojen juhliin.
 Sininen kangas oli mukana opetuksessani vasta ensimmäistä syksyä, odotan, mitä kaikkea uutta syntyy seuraavalla kerralla kun kangas otetaan esiin? 

No, for dancing toddlers it is a sea, waves, a pond... what ever the teacher or the children or the adults can create with it.  In the picture it is only a beautiful, shiny piece of cloth, mutta it hides many things in it.
With this blue  thing we practise rhytm, a swinging waltz  can be created by bringin the cloth up-down-up-down.  The adults continue making waves for the children who are standing under the large cloth.  The children and feel the breeze in their hairs as they are trying to reach high up.  Then the adults bring the cloth down and the children go under it as turtles or crayfish, moving as low as possible.


Then the children are allowed to hop over the cloth - jump into the pond! They can feel the material of the cloth with their hands and feet, how slippery it is! At last we all "swim in the water" meaning  we all dance on the cloth and  jump off the pond  also.  The fish party! shouted one little dancer, and indeed, the sea theme always ends with the fish party.
This was the first time that I included this item in the toddlers`dance lesson, so I ´m really anticipating what can be created with it the next time?
