Riemuisaa joulua ja pala teippiä - Merry Christmas and a piece of tape

Hyvää joulua kaikille tanssijoille, pienille ja suurille, nuorille ja vanhoille! 

Joskus ei tarvita muuta kuin teipinpala, ja kas, olemmekin syvällä taidekasvatuksen pyörteissä.



Kuvass oleva vaalea piste on hopeanvärinen teipinpala tanssisalissa. 
Tuo teippi on 3-5-vuotaiden tanssikasvatuksen yksi kulmakivistä omilla tunneillani. Se toimii focuspisteenä pienille tanssijoille, sen avulla löydetään tilan keskipiste, sen ympärille kokoonnutaan oppimaan,olemaan yhdessä ja aloittamaan eriteemaiset tuntitanssit. Sen tärkein funktio on aloitukseen liittyvä, kokoonnumme -ei teipinpalan -vaan  mielikuvitusta kutkuttavanTaikakiven ympärille, siirrymme tanssin maailmaan arkipäivän asioista.  Taikakiven päällä saa myös tanssia, tehdä omia tanssipatsaita, hypätä sen yli, piilottaa se omalla kehollaan, seisoa yhdellä jalalla sen  päällä, mitä vaan. Nämä tehtävät tehdään yleensä tunnin alussa, kun jokaisen lapsen läsnäolo huomioidaan.
 Taikakivelle noustaan yksin, uskalletaan tulla näkyviksi, esitetään se ensimmäisen esitys toisille.  Kaikki eivät uskalla olla huomion keskipisteenä aluksi, ja sekin sopii. Yleensä viimeinenkin tanssija haluaa tehdä oman tonttupatsaan tai jääpuikon ennen kuin jäädään joululomalle. On hienoa nähdä näitä arvokkaita hetkiä, kun lapset ottavat oman tilansa, oma hetkensä. Samalla opitaan toisen ainutkertaisuuden kunnioittamista, oman vuoron odottamista ja jokaisen huomioimisen tärkeyttä.   Alla olevassa artikkelissa toinen kasvattaja kertoo lauluviivasta päiväkodeissa, sekin alkaa teipinpalasta.

Merry Christmas to all dancers whether you´re small or big, young or old!
Sometimes it only takes a piece of tape and all of sudden we are in the midst of dance and art education. The light spot  in a picture is a piece of silver tape in a dance room. That piece of tape is one of my corner stones of the early dance education for 3-5years old dancers. It works as a focus point for children, it marks the center of the dance space. We gather around the tape to learn and be with each other. We begin many of the different dances around it.

The most significant function for the tape has to do with the begining of each dance lesson. We gather -not around a tape- but the Macig Stone and we transfer ourselves from daily life to the world of dance and art where imagination and creativity are needed and offered.  One can dance over the Macig Stone, balance on it, create one´s own dance statue, jump over it, anything goes. These short assigments given by me or suggested by pupilss are done usually at the begining of a lesson when each dancer´s presence is recognized.
The children stand up individually, they dare themselves to be seen, they perform the "first performance" to each other. Some children are very shy and don´t want to present themselves. That is very much allowed for them to take their own time. Usually everyone is eager to have their own turn by Christmas.  It feels very meaningful to experience these moments when every child takes their own and significant moment at the Magic Stone. At the same time children learn appreciation of others and their efforts and learn also how to wait for their own turn. We also recognize how important it is to be noticed as one´s own person.
