3-vuotiaiden vanhemmat pääsivät vihdoin kurkistamaan lastensa tanssitunnille, kun viime viikolla pidettiin avoimien ovien tunnit. Usein näillä tunneilla käy niin, että lapset juoksentelevat vanhempiensa luokse tanssiharjoitteiden välillä, opettaja jää vähän sivuhenkilöksi ja tunnista saattaa jäädä vanhemmille sekava kuva. Mikä pahinta, myös kuva, joka ei vastaa tuntien todellista sisältöä.
Yritin välttää tätä tilannetta, ja pyysinkin vanhempia myös olemaan hiljaa ja keskittyneitä, ja tukemaan lastensa oppimistilannetta.
Opetan lapsia koko syksyn kuuntelemaan ohjeita, antamaan toisille tanssikavereille ns. tanssirauhan, eli ei olla liian lähellä kaveria, ei tönitä eikä komennella kaveria. Opetan myös lapsia keskittymään omaan tekemiseen, musiikin kuuntelemiseen, hahmottamaan omaa tanssitilaa ja odottamaan omaa vuoroa tarvittaessa. Nämä miten tanssitunneilla - ollaan taidot auttavat ja mahdollistavat itse tanssiliikkeiden oppimisen ja keskittyneen tunnelman, jolloin oppiminen tapahtuu toivotussa flow-tilassa.
Viime viikon avoimissa ovissa laitettiin yhteen lasten oppimat asiat ja vanhempien kannustava yleisö, ja lopputuloksena oli joka ryhmässä keskittynyt tanssitunnelma, ja onnistuneet tanssit! Lapset tanssivat omana itsenään, opettaja samoin ja vanhemmat pääsivät katsomaan, mitä omat lapset ovat oppineet aloitettuaan tanssitunnit. Tärkeimpänä ehkä ne keskittyneet hetket, johon lapset jo pystyvät. Jotta lapset oppisivat keskittymään, tarvitaan häiriötöntä ja turvallista ympäristöä. Viime viikolla se saavutettiin, vaikka oli yleisöä paikalla. Tästä on hyvä jatkaa!
Rauhallista ja aurinkoista viikonloppua toivottaen!
The parents of the three years old dancers finally got inside to take a look at their children`s dancing. Last week was the open oors-week at the dance school. It often happens during the open doors - lessons that children keep running to their parents between different dances, the teacher might seem to be left alone standing and waiting for the children to attend and the overall picture of class might seem unorganized by the parents` point of view. And it the worst thing is, that the picture is usually totally untrue. This year I tried to avoid this kind of scenario from happening by kindly asking the parents and other audience to keep quiet and stay concentrated on the children.
From the very first dance lesson I teach children to lissten to the instructions, give other dance friends so called dance piece, meaning not to stand too close to their friends, not to push their friends or order them around. I also teach them to focus on their own moving, to perceive the space, lissten to the music and wait for their own turn if necessesary. These so called "How to behave in a dance class" skills help the children, and enable the learning of actual dance and movement skills as well as concentrating skills.
The flow of learning is possible.
Last week we put togeter the things the children have learned so far and the supportinf audience of parents and the results were plenty: each group concentrated well and did their best during the class!
The children acted natural, as did the teacher, and the parents had a real picture of their childrens dance lesson. The most important were the moments of deep concentration by the children.
An undisturbed and safe enviroment is needed, if the children are required to concentrate.
Last week that atmosphere was achieved, even the audience present It is a good point to continue!
